"Waiting for Sunrise" & "Viva Qva Libre" May 16 2012
I just added a link to the short film I directed in December, "Waiting for Sunrise." The film follows an underwhelmed, overdrugged eighteen-year-old as he trudges through the dreary desolation of winter in a New England summer paradise. We are currently in post-production on the film, but in the meantime you can view a trailer on the film's website.
Visit "Waiting for Sunrise" website Also to be released shortly is a film I co-directed with the great Melina Greene in Havana, Cuba, this past spring. We are in post-production on this as well and will keep you updated with any news! Stay tuned, and thanks for watching! "An Unpleasant Shopping Experience" & "Try A Little Tenderness" August 3 2011
These are my two final projects for my Sight & Sound: Film class at New York University, Tisch School of the Arts. In this class, we shoot on old 16mm black & white Arri film cameras. "An Unpleasant Shopping Experience" was a project in sound effects, as the entire soundtrack had to be made from scratch (we couldn't record sound on set because of the loud camera).
For my final project, I decided to make a music video to Otis Redding's "Try A Little Tenderness," but through an unconventional lens. Reminiscing, I wanted to show the love between a little girl and her favorite doll, and thanks to the ever-expanding acting chops of my niece, Hava Methe, this vision came to life! Enjoy! 48 hours. What do we do? Make a movie. "Suitless" is the tragic untold story of the Joker playing card, written and directed by Jacob Garber and starring Taylor Adamson as the Joker. We had a great time working on this with a great crew to boot-- from Producer Anita Gou to Assistant Director Simone Wymbs-Stevens, Director of Photography Nino Chichua to Original Music Composer Toby Cruz, as well as all of our actors: Tyler Gilliam, Daanish Alam, and Ximena Alvarez! "Suitless" also won Third Place and Most Original in the Tisch 48 Underdogs festival this past March!

Some very exciting news for Green Screen Studios-- "Whole Again," "The Bag Lady," and "Rock Paper Scissors" were official selections at the South Texas Underground Film Celebration of Female Filmmakers and Musicians! The event sounded like it was a great time! Thanks again to South Texas Underground Film for featuring some of our films!
In other news, "Rock Paper Scissors" was also screened at the 2011 Drew Film Festival in Lenox, MA. Also screened from GSS was "Suitless," directed by Jacob Garber. Thanks again to Cindy Parrish and Berkshire Country Day School for letting us be involved... full speed ahead! "Sabrina the Teenage Bitch" released December 14 2010
This is my final project for Lynne McVeigh's Fall 2010 Sight & Sound: Studio class at New York University, Tisch School of the Arts. It is an original parody of the classic show "Sabrina the Teenage Witch," starring Melissa Joan Hart.
A HUGE thank you to my actors, who gave consistently great performances and were fun to work with; everyone in Studio A, who really buckled down and got it done the day of the shoot; Laurie & Ken Green, Robin Sayres, and Kristina Methe, who helped me with all of the art direction. I'm beyond pleased with the final product! Hope you all enjoy it... Watch "Sabrina the Teenage Bitch" "Breast Cancer Awareness" airs on PCTV October 7 2010
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and last October Alexa collaborated with Tori Larson to put together a public service announcement with some facts about breast cancer.
The ad will be airing for the entire month of October on Pittsfield Community Television, channel 17. This would not have been possible without the support of Shawn Serre at PCTV, The Cinematic Orchestra and Ninja Tune, and Step-In Producer Ken Green. Keep your eyes peeled and let out a "woot" if you see the ad! Watch "Breast Cancer Awareness" Alexa Green wins National Award July 14 2010
Over my senior year at Miss Hall's School, I worked on a promotional video for the Berkshire Museum through the Miss Hall's Horizons program in conjunction with Pittsfield Community Television. The Alliance for Community Media, the trade organization to which PCTV belongs, has a yearly Hometown Video Awards Contest that awards the best public access programming in the nation. The Alliance has selected my promotional video as a winner in the "Best Short Subject - Youth" category. This is a national award and the plaque is now proudly displayed on my wall! A huge thank you to Miss Hall's School, the Horizons program, Shawn Serre, and Pittsfield Community Television for making this happen!
David Smith at Miss Hall's School wrote an article about the award-- Read it here! (PDF) The Berkshire Museum Promo is not up for viewing yet, but stay tuned! "Alexa Green - Director's Reel 2010" released May 24 2010
It's time. I've been seeing demo reels all over YouTube and Vimeo, but there has been one blaring omission. Green Screen Studios was not being represented among those demo reels! So I made a reel showcasing some of my work over the past few years. Thanks for watching everyone!

This is my final project for my freshman Frame & Sequence Class at NYU Tisch. Under the tutelage of Darrell Wilson, we were required to create a narrative project using only still images. Always with one toe in the pool of pop culture, I decided to spoof Lady Gaga and some of her outrageous stunts under the guise of an instructional video. Here's what happened.

This year, Carly Simon rerecorded her hit 1973 song "You're So Vain." Since there existed no music video for the song, she held a contest to make a music video for the song. And of course Green Screen Studios made one.
We shot the film in two long shooting days, roughing it through some cold, rain, and sleet right at the end (the final scene of the video). The shoot was a fun and productive time, as everyone really hunkered down to get the job done in the small amount of time we were all home from our respective colleges. Editing took a few days, and I was thrilled with the final result. Watch "You're So Vain Music Video" "iPad Commercial" released April 13 2010
This is a quick little spoof advertisement I put together for the new Apple iPad.
Watch "iPad Commercial" "The Bag Lady" released, Campus Movie Fest April 12 2010
This week, Campus Movie Fest, the largest student film festival, came to New York University. Not passing up an opportunity like this, I assembled a crew and we wrote, shot, edited, and released an original short film, "The Bag Lady," over the weekend. Living in New York, you see quite a lot of, we'll say, "interesting," happenings on the street. We decided to work off of these city street dynamics and show some of the lengths to which city dwellers will go to avoid interaction.
We shot the film in three hours in Thompkins Square Park in the East Village. This festival gave me an opportunity to collaborate with some new people which was a complete success! Anita Gou, Simone Wymbs-Stevens, and I wrote the film, Gou served as our trustworthy producer, Carlos Flores was our amazing Director of Photography, Wymbs-Stevens held down the field Sound department and edited sound in post, as well as some amazing new talent! "The Bag Lady" herself Marguerite Stern, Eric Greengold, Vishal Narang, Nino Chichua, Mariam Tsilosani, and Babi Tsilosani, as well as Gou and Wymbs-Stevens, were all great to work with. Gou and I spent many hours editing right up until the deadline for delivery. Wymbs-Stevens and I delivered the final film in the nick of time. A total of 70 films were made for the festival by New York University students alone, and thousands of films are made for the festival each year. "The Bag Lady" was selected as one of 16 films to be screened at the NYU Showcase. The showcase was extremely exciting and a great time was had by all! Watch "The Bag Lady" "Whole Again" released March 29 2010
"Whole Again" is an experimental film made for Darrell Wilson's Frame & Sequence class at New York University, Tisch School of the Arts. Like all college students, I had been considering "life" and I thought what if, as you walk, you leave instances of yourself wherever you go. And as you fade away--that is what aging is. I dabbled with this idea for my experimental project, and got to experiment a lot with editing and Adobe Photoshop. The film ended up requiring hours of tedious editing, but I am more than pleased with the result. Here's how it turned out.
A huge thanks to Kristy Methe and Ken Green for helping me out at the last minute! Watch "Whole Again"
